How to make a good pair high quality helmet mold?

The quality of the main helmet cap shell is related to the life safety of drivers and passengers. Generally, the core and cavity of motorcycle helmet mold are made of imported 2738 steel, which has the benefits of good dimensional stability, chipability and high mirror grinding performance, and the hardness reaches HRC 32-38 after heat treatment. The slider adopts inlet 2344, hardness above 48. In addition, the gravity removal process makes the product reasonable use time rationalization.

The plastic lenses on the helmet can prevent wind, sand and slow speed, directly affecting the safety of riders’ driving and exercise. Lens mold belongs to the high precision plastic mold, its mold surface shape is complex, the material is difficult to cut, the precision requirement is high, its manufacturing and processing process has higher requirements than the general precision plastic mold. Our team used the analysis of the injection molding process of the helmet lens mold, and adopted the combination of machinery and grinding. We have a five-axis machining center for processing, which allows the helmet lens mold to achieve higher cutting efficiency and better surface quality, so that the lens mold surface is well smooth.

Processing the special curved surface of the helmet mold cavity or core, the mold height drop is large, plus the irregular shape parts such as rounded corners and inversions, it is difficult to process in place at one time, so it is necessary to carry out EDM to maintain the processing accuracy and surface quality of the surface, as well as control the cost. The disadvantage of this processing is that the table place process still needs to be polished later, and the processing time is longer.

But given the sudden outbreak of demand in the helmet market, the speed of delivery is particularly important. Timstyle products need to be as fast as possible. In this environment, the traditional processing method does not have advantages in the market competition.
